PUPPY START RIGHT COURSE
FOUNDATIONS FOR A CALM, CONFIDENT PUPPY
The Puppy Start Right Course is your gentle, supportive introduction to training for puppies aged 12-24 weeks. This 4 week group course teaches you the essential foundations your puppy needs to thrive, without the overwhelm.
Before WEEK 1, you will be invited to join a PRE-COURSE ZOOM CALL WORKSHOP where we cover; socialisation, puppy biting, toilet training, crate training/time alone, ways to entertain your puppy & how you can make the most of your training journey. This means you will walk into the first class prepared, confident and ready to go.
WHAT THIS COURSE COVERS:
Early Recall Foundations: Teach your puppy to come back to you, learning how to manage around distractions to keep your puppy safe.
Loose Lead Beginnings: Lets build the foundations for focused walks & start to phase out that pesky lead pulling.
Socialising RIGHT: Learn how to introduce your puppy to new experiences safely without causing over excitement & overwhelm
Jumping Up & Food Manners: Prevent bad habits and teach polite behaviours.
+ name response, focus training, handling essentials, settle on a mat & confidence building!
What's included?
PRE- COURSE ONLINE WORKSHOP
We start off meeting up for a virtual workshop via 'Zoom' (don't panic if you aren't tech savvy I will help)
We talk all things routine covering; toilet training & crate training.
Discussing the HOT TOPIC of Puppy Biting & mouthing, how to reduce it
Creative enrichment ideas to keep your puppy engaged and happy at home.
Thing's you can be having a go at training before week 1
WEEK 1-2: CALM BEGINNINGS & FOUNDATION SKILLS
Your puppies essential early learning stage. We focus on building confidence, connection and calmness.
You'll learn:
- Name response & building engagement
- Marker training & treat delivery
- Calm greeting foundations
- Early recall games
- Handling & vet/groomer confidence
- Reducing nipping/mouthing
- Socialisation; what to do & what to avoid
- Early settle work
WEEK 3: EVERYDAY MANNERS & LEAD SKILLS
We start bringing your puppy's skills into real life situations.
You'll learn:
- Loose-lead walking foundations
-Rewarding proximity & check-ins
- Doorway/threshold manners
-Continued impulse control basics
- Settling after excitement
WEEK 4: PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER + GRADUATION!
A milestone week where everything comes together
You'll learn:
- Recall in mild distractions
- Lead walking in simple real-life set-ups
- Stronger settle behaviour
- Practicing polite greetings
